“Millionaire Mortgage” Company Under Review
The Millionaire Mortgage had some flashy marketing behind it when it launched last year. Now some are wondering if flash was all that was behind it.
The company promoting the product, DPR Financial, is apparently being “reviewed” by the authorities as dozens of consumers have reportedly filed complaints. Recent reports, like this CTV story, have various individuals suggesting there has been some kind of wrongdoing.
An article in TheRecord quotes company founder, Daniel Reeve, as saying: “we have done nothing wrong."
The company’s website (http://www.dprfinancial.com/) is now offline and its Waterloo, ON headquarters and Windsor, ON offices are shuttered for alleged non-payment of rent.
It’s a story that is still unfolding and we’ll post updates as we get them.

Waterloo financial office locked by landlord for nonpayment of rent

Millionaire in You owner also runs shuttered Jakobstettel Inn

The headquarters for the Millionaire in You Wealth Institute run by Daniel P. Reeve has been taken back by the landlord for nonpayment of rent.
Mat Wolf, a principal in Solowave Investments, the landlord for the property at 423 King St. N., said his company changed the locks and took back the premises on Thursday.
He said Solowave tried for weeks to meet with Reeve in an effort to make arrangements to get "a few months" of back rent owed, but each meeting was deferred by Reeve.
"We have had no success in actually meeting with him and we went through a process of making a formal demand for the rent arrears," he said.
Reeve is also the president of Jakobstettel Properties Inc., which ran Jakobstettel Inn in St. Jacobs until its sudden closing earlier this month.
The inn property on Isabella Street is in power of sale proceedings because of defaults on the mortgage.

A Windsor financial services company which promised to help clients get in touch with their inner millionaire has been evicted from its Ouellette Avenue offices for non-payment of rent.
DPR Financial, also known as DPR Windsor Inc., owed $65,367 to MGB Investments Ltd., the landlord. The bailiff notice posted the locked front doors said the landlord was seizing the company's possessions. If the rent wasn't paid within five days, the goods taken would be sold at auction, the notice said.
DPR Financial occupied the offices for slightly more than a year.

Inside the entranceway of the newly renovated building was a gilded side table and a framed picture. Both had bright orange sticky notes saying the property was being seized by bailiff Dewar Laing of Southern Ontario Bailiff Services.

Couples who had wedding plans at the Jakobstettel Inn in St. Jacobs are suddenly scrambling to find other venues after the inn located in an old mansion closed.
Meanwhile, Waterloo Regional Police are reviewing 22 complaints about investment products offered by various businesses headed by the inn's owner, Daniel P. Reeve, who also runs DPR Financial Inc. and The Millionaire in You Wealth Institute on King Street in Waterloo.
Staff Sgt. Wally Hogg of the Waterloo Regional Police fraud squad said the review is taking place to see whether a full investigation is warranted.
The doors at The Millionaire in You Wealth Institute offices were locked yesterday, and a notice on the door listed a new number for clients to call. Reeve also ran Daniel P. Reeve & Associates Inc. Financial Services out of offices at 46 Cambridge St. in Cambridge, a property currently listed for sale on realtor.ca.
